All over this country there are condemned buildings
. You see this in the big city as well as in rural areas. Some buildings are small houses and others are big commercial buildings. Some buildings are warehouses and others are barns. Needless to say, they all look bad.
These buildings are condemned for various reasons. Some of them may have had fire damage and it wasn't repaired. Some of them could have been abandoned by the owner and deteriorated over the years. Others could have just had bad owners who didn't take the time to upkeep their property.
Condemned buildings have a look of despair and destruction. They represent something that isn't cared for on a regular basis. They also signify emptiness and lifelessness.
Condemned buildings are just plain ugly!
Do you feel like a condemned building sometimes? Do you need some repairs?
Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
The word is clear that those who are in Christ Jesus are not in a state of condemnation. In Jesus you don't feel empty; you don't feel like you've been destroyed; and you don't feel unwanted.
When we walk according to our flesh, we are subject to dreadful things happening to us. We let people come in our lives who use and abuse us. We get involved in situations where we are literally destroyed. Or our bodies wear out and deteriorate over time because of bad habits.
When we walk in the Spirit, we feel brand new. We look good. We feel fulfilled. We are full of life.
So let's go to the home improvement store and do an Extreme Home Makeover on ourselves and get our lives straight starting with the inside and then working on the outside
