Home remedies for common eye problems in English bulldogs

When it comes to English Bulldog eye problem, you can help your dog by using home remedies. The eye condition in English Bulldog is common that these procedure had to be done several times. These home remedies are useful for some eye problem such as:

Cherry Eye

For this condition there are three home remedies:

1. Medicate Before anything, make sure the ointment is prescribed by a veterinarian. In order to eliminate infection, all you have to do is apply it to the eye.

2. Warm Compresses This can be done by applying warm ,damp cloth to your dog's eyes. The warmth is good in the way it unblock the gland. Do this carefully and gently.

3. Massage Using your index finger, massage the gland lightly in a circular way.

After these treatments, you are ready to replace' the nictating membrane. It is done by pulling out the tissue slowly and putting it back. It is best to get help from the vet since that this breed is a nervous breed. Bear in mind that at times it is easy to do this procedure while at times, it s challenging.

A mistake in doing this procedure may lead to a very unhealthy dog or injuries to the dog. To avoid this, you can ask the vet, the breeder or other English Bulldog owner how it is done.

Entropion

With this eye problem, a surgery is needed. You can try using saline drops or try to unroll the eyelid for mild cases.

Ectropion

It corrected with surgery or with home remedies. Use saline, lubricating drops or ointment to avoid dry eyes. Monitor your dog's eyes and if there is redness and discharge from the eyes, do seek attention from your vet.

Distichiasis

There is not much you can do with this eye problem. You will probably need your vet and an ophthalmologist specialist for this eye problem. If you do not have a patient English Bulldog and you try this, your dog would probably sees you as his biggest enemy!!
