Being a dog trainer myself, I know how important it is to keep dog treats on hand to reward the dog when they have done well and I always reward the dog I am training for a job well done and I know that dog owners like to give their dogs treats for many different reasons.

Dog owners like to give their dogs treats simply because they love their dog, treats after dinner, or midday between meals. There are many different types of dog treats, some help clean your dogs teeth, some help get rid of your dogs bad breath, some help quench his thirst to chew such as rawhide bones and pig ears, boy they love those but what gets me is how expensive dog treats have become.

Just a few years ago you could buy a bag of pig ears for about $5 and today they are about $15 dollars and that is for a pound or less, for crying out loud, you could buy your dog filet mignon at these prices and it's not only the pig ears, but the rawhide bones and dog biscuits are all up in price $10, $15 even up to 20 dollars a pound, you pay more for your dogs treats then you pay for your own food.
