Recalls have come to haut carmakers again and this time it is none other than the trusted Honda Siel Cars India. The carmaker will recall the bestselling Honda City saloon. The car needs a replacement of a faulty part in the valve train. Honda City models made between November 2008 to December 2009 will get a preventive part replacement of the lost motion spring in the valve train. According to the carmaker the replacement will be done for 57,853 units of the Honda City.The third generation Honda City needs a change of lost motion springs. These are compressed by rocker arms in normal engine use. The result of these not working properly is that these springs may bend or break. This can cause abnormal engine noise and might cause engine stalling and restarting issues.

All replacements and repairs will be done by Honda free of cost. The other variant Honda City 1.5 S AT has the same engine but comes with an automatic transmission gearbox. It is priced at Rs 8,15,000 - Rs 10,25,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
