How Can Good People Destroy Their Marriage Through Cheating

Life has become blissful when you gave up your single life to be with the man whom you want to be your husband

. Things seem to work finely, your relationship as a husband and wife is smooth-sailing, and he's been a good provider and head of the family.

But, in one day, everything changed.

The world suddenly stopped and the colorful life you're in suddenly became the blackest midnight of your life.

It would be so much easier if you could suddenly see him as the quintessential villain. You know the handle bar mustache, the evil laugh, and a hunched back to go along with it. Unfortunately, when you look at him you see the same man you've woken up beside each morning for the last several years.

You see the same man you loved yesterday and you just can't quite bring yourself to hate him today.

You started asking yourself, "What's wrong with me?" Whether you believe it or not, he's still the man you love. He still the good man who has wrongfully done something that wounded you and the entire family.

Do not drown yourself on the thought that something's wrong with you that made him go astray. It's a clich that humans are bound to commit mistakes but it's the reality. The thing is that the damage has already been done and the pain of his wrong deed has already seeped the entire family.

Stop putting him in the pedestal. Reality check, woman. He's cheated on you. Whatever he says, whether he was in shock and didn't really know what he was doing, better not buy it. He's sane and mature enough to know what is right and wrong.

And, there should be consequences. Even if your marriage survives this, and I honestly believe it can, he needs to know that this is not acceptable behavior.

Many women blame themselves when their husbands cheat. Is it possible that you could have done things that would have prevented his cheating? That's like asking if an extra twig in the dam would have made it hold more water back during a flood.

Communication is the key in not only preventing his cheating (his communication and your communication) but also in preventing it from happening in the future.
