How Can Your Brochures Capture People's Attention

Do you notice that many business establishments use brochures for their promotional tools

? Have you ever inquired why? Perhaps it is for the simple reason that they work.

There's no question that they are attention-grabbing, their flashy hues or big bold texts and their strategic positioning made sure they would get your notice. But with all the other pamphlets out there, catching your notice isn't sufficient. The real test of a great pamphlet is that it will jump out in the sea of other colorful brochures, enough to have you take one out from the rest.

They are everywhere. They are in malls, airports, grocery store aisles, terminals, conventions, and anywhere else. Brochures of various sizes and colors invade every nook and corner of jam-packed sites. Sometimes they are ignored, sometimes passersby get them for info. There are even times when people pick them up to beat boredom. But whatever reason they have, pamphlets are only there when you need them.

While getting a brochure to stand out isn't simple, it's also not difficult. There are only few measures to remember in creating a stand out brochure.

First, know your target market. This is a very serious step. You may have designed the most original cover you could think of, complete with cute killer teddies and blood-sucking Robert Pattinson-look-a-like mini vampires, but are you sure your intended readers of adult male ages 30 to 50 would bite into that? Without knowing your target readers, all efforts you poured into your brochure would be futile. You should reach out to your intended readers with materials that they like and understand. They may not exactly need it, but wanting and understanding it is enough.

Just because a brochure usually has multiple pages, it doesn't mean it can look like a whole chapter ripped out from a book. Create a title text that sums up the whole point of the brochure. A one-word title in large readable font would be perfect. Just follow it up with an accompanying subtitle that further explains the pamphlet. Also, keep the information short and to the point on the following pages. It should be easy to read so your readers will really read it from beginning to end.

Those are only some of the basic steps you should consider when you wish your brochure to stand out. You could also try adding gleaming texts or other special effects or even have attractive girls to personally hand out the pamphlets if you believe those would help. But for starters, try the suggested steps first to ensure your brochures would be given more than a passing glance by your intended readers.

Include your business' name and contact details. Of course, the whole aim of making a brochure is to get more customers or to create consciousness, so forgetting to include your company's information defeats your aim.

Your brochure design should not only correspond to your intended readers' preference, but to your message as well. You may have lured working class adults with your perfect beach vacation-themed design and layout, but your pamphlet's message of auto loans isn't anywhere near your design. That would just create confusion, prompting your readers to believe that the brochure doesn't really know about its own subject. There is also a design overkill. So utilize a single theme on all the brochure's pages.

And of course, your pamphlets should be in a conspicuous site where most of your intended market can see. If your brochure is about a shopping center's big sale event, it is unlikely that residents from a different province would travel for hours just to be able to go to the sale. A childbirth method brochure would also be largely ignored when handed out in an exclusive for men's fitness club.
