Law firms have found it far more economic to pay another law firm its charge for loads of work rather than paying individual legal professionals working with them. The financial benefit of LPO has encouraged legal firms to go beyond national boundaries for outsourcing their works. Outsourcing to law firms abroad is termed as Legal Process Offshoring, which at present is setting a new trend.

Use of social networking sites is another new trend in the legal industry and is sure to gain more popularity. While clients are using popular social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to find efficient attorneys and other legal professionals, people working in the legal industry are using the same platforms for reaching global clientele, searching jobs and recruiting people at their firms. People are getting and giving legal advices in the form of social networking and are finding it most convenient as there is no need to manage time to visit a law firm or the chamber of a private legal practitioner for consulting legal issues. However, using social networking sites for legal consultation is a bit risky, in terms of privacy and hence should be done with care.

Use of high end mobile phones, advanced software and internet is another ongoing trend in the legal industry. Legal professionals are now working from everywhere through their software packed mobile phones and laptops. Exchange of documents, forms and other necessary things is now simpler than ever, thanks to internet. A legal professional doesn"t need to build and maintain an office to get jobs. A notebook or a mobile with internet connection can turn a legal professional"s house and even the car as a virtual office from where he/she can serve clientele with knowledge and expertise.
