MS Outlook 2007 automatically does this task for you if:

An antivirus is installed on your computer system. Settings in MS Outlook are configured to protect emails.

You must confirm that whether or not your Outlook account is protected from virus infection. Execute following steps to know the email protection status for your Outlook profile:

1. Check that you have an effective antivirus installed on your computer system or not. If not then install an advanced antivirus like Norton, Kasper sky, etc.

2. After you have checked / installed antivirus, start MS Outlook.

3. Select Options in the Tools menu.

4. Select the Email protection tab.

5. Confirm that the Scan upon receiving, Scan when read, and Scan upon sending options are selected.

6. If the options are not selected then select them.

7. Click the Apply button.

8. Click the OK button.

After executing the preceding steps, restart MS Outlook 2007. Now, your Outlook.pst file is safe from the adverse effects of malicious viruses.
