The Micro centrifuge is a small mechanical device which uses centrifugal force created by a high-speed rotation, which is horizontal. By doing so, the force of spinning will separate solids from liquids or even liquids from other different types of liquids. Back in the day many would consider this the type of machine which would separate cream from whole milk.

The Micro centrifuge has been traced back from the 1700's yet is now becoming more and more popular with many different laboratories for their scientific use. There are a few individuals who should be thanked for this wonderful creation to be put together: Benjamin Robbins who invented the whirling arm apparatus, Carl G.P De Laval who designed the separators, and Theodore Svedberg who invented the ultra centrifuge. This wonderful invention took place back in 1926, and also won the Nobel Prize.

There are many different ways to order your micro centrifuge, but most often you will get a good deal by dealing with a manufacturer or supplier who also has the expertise to give you great back up after you have bought. These machines cost around $3,000 or so depending on the model or make which you choose for your laboratory.

When using a micro centrifuge you need to be careful since they can be quite dangerous. Though there are no sharp edges it does spin quite fast, approximately tens of thousands times per minute, which can certainly hurt if bits of you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Many will look for safety precaution options such as machines which do not have on/off switches but is controlled by the lid when it is closed. This will create the spinning action only when the lid is on. If the lid is removed it will stop the process so there will no longer be a safety hazard.

This smaller scale centrifuge is used for many different fluid type discoveries and will ultimately split the liquids to determine sickness or other diseases, which can occur in the blood or urine samples. By spinning these liquids as fast as the machine will go, they will separate the liquids and determine what exactly they are looking for.

The remaining material which is left at the bottom of the tubes in the labs after being spun in the micro centrifuge will be looked at underneath a microscope to be looked at further. These machines may have been around for many years, but never would anyone have thought back in the day that it would become such a popular machine that laboratories would be able to use to determine a variety of sicknesses through bodily liquids.
