How I Lose The Weight And Keep On Running

When I turned 50 during this past year, I decided that I still wanted to accomplish

some things before I became too limited physically; I wanted to start running again. In my twenties, I was able to run seven miles at a good gallop; but at 50, I thought I simply couldnt do that anymore.

I started running anyway with the idea that I would run a little farther each time I went out. Gradually I would get up to a good distance. I wanted to run thirty or forty yards farther than I ran the time before, and you know what happened? It worked. Gradually, I got up to two miles, and then, I got up to almost three.

I began to notice something, however. I wasnt really losing any weight. I was still at 228 lbs and I had been gradually running longer and longer for about two months. Shouldnt I be getting slimmer? I realized I had another problem. The runs were becoming more and more difficult. My ankles, knees, and hips werent holding up.

If you weighed less, it wouldnt hurt your knees as much, a friend offered to me. Simple, right? Just lose some weight and youll be able to run farther with less effort. But how am I going to lose weight if I am already running two to three miles, three or four times a week? I needed some tools to drop the excess baggage.

I did some research and held onto my commitment. Eventually, I found the tools. The tools were available from lots of different sources but I needed something else, some resource that brought them all together.

I took a chance. Not a big chance, really. I found something online that seemed to bring everything I had gathered together into one place. I began with what I believed held all the tools I needed to lose some weight not the forty or fifty pounds that the hype promised. I wanted to lose twenty or twenty-five. I wanted to lose weight for a specific reason and this made all the difference.

Ive been running now for five months. When I started on my weight reduction program, touted as a Six-Pack program, I was running 2.5 miles and weighed 228 lbs. Now at the five-month mark, I am running 5 miles and weigh in at 203. This is not what was promised, but thats ok. I had my own expectations of what I wanted because I didnt let the hype, advertising and video tell me what I wanted. I found the tools and guidelines in this source that fit me and my life and thats all that mattered. What I wanted was to enjoy running again. I had to lose some weight and I did that.

The key to losing weight is a simple one: Figure out WHY you want to lose weight. You want to lose it because you want to be more attractive. Great! You want to lose it because youre tired of bending over to tie your shoes and seeing the huge bulge of your belly bunch up. Super Great!!! Figure out WHY getting rid of the excess weight is right for you, then check out the reference below for a super resource to get what you want. If youre like me, running five miles a day at age 50 is all the reward I ever needed.
