How Led Screens Revolutionised Live Events

, Wales power to a glorious grand slam. For 70,000 baying Welshmen, it was a privilege to be there, but the event was made all the more memorable by the use of LED Screens.

Once upon a time, if you went to a live sporting event your chances of enjoying a good view were dubious to say the least. On the bright side you enjoyed the thrill of the live experience, but on the other hand you often found yourself stuck up in the Gods watching what looks like a bunch of stick men. As television coverage expanded, many chose to abandon live sports for the better view they could get at home.

However, the giant LED screens in the stadium made sure that everyone, wherever they were sitting, enjoyed as good a view as someone watching on television, so as Martin Williams powered through for the winning try, everyone could get a close up view of the action.

The enjoyment was not restricted to those inside the ground. In the city outside huge LED screens allowed thousands who had not been able to get hold of tickets, enjoy every moment of the action. Despite the rain teeming down from the heavens it meant the atmosphere within the capital of the Principality could not have been better. A high point in Welsh sporting history was accessible to all.

That day, back in 2008, demonstrated the immense thrill and excitement a giant LED screen could bring to a live sporting occasion. Technology has moved on substantially in recent years. They are now much lighter and more effective, especially when broadcasting pictures to a live audience in the middle of the day. Not so long ago such a thought would have been unthinkable, but this is where the LED technology really comes into its own.

The brightness shines out even in sunlight and its lightweight design means the screen can be much larger than ever before. When trying to entertain a large crowd that is vital - even those right at the back can enjoy a front row seat.

The evolution of LED screens continues apace in what has become an extremely exciting industry. With each advance the functionality afforded to the average spectator be it watching sport, a concert or indeed anything else, grows. As it does it means live entertainment becomes more thrilling than ever before.
