From what I have seen so far, women seem to be more likely to get involved in a rebound relationship than men due to the fact that they are more emotional. However, men do get involved in this type of relationship too, though not as often.

Fortunately, a rebound relationship usually end very quickly. It doesn't matter whether it is a man or a woman who is involved in a rebound. This type of relationship usually end after a few weeks.

Sometimes, it can take 3 to 4 months. Occasionally, it may take up to 6 months though this is quite rare.

If your ex is involved in this kind of fragile relationship at the moment, don't worry too much. A rebound can actually work to your advantage. In fact, it may even help you get your ex back.

Why is that so?

This is because your ex is only making use of this relationship to get over you. However, your ex will soon realized that a rebound will not help him/her forget you. Instead, he/she will end up thinking of you more often.

This is very normal. Your ex will not be able to help it. He/she will tend to compare you to his/her new dating partner. After some time, he/she will realized that it is actually you whom he/she love the most.
