How My Daughter Taught Me To Use The Ipad
The iPad has become a must have gadget, it has revolutionised the way people communicate
and opened up the world of easy computing to generations of new and old alike.
We all know the iPad is easy to use with its touchscreen operation and sleek operating system, however there are many hidden features that can be used to further enhance the use of the iPad.
After you have had your iPad for some time, your home screens will become cluttered with all the applications you have downloaded from the App Store. The other day my daughter commented on how many icons I had on my iPad's screen and asked me why I had not tidied them up and put them into folders. I replied I simply didn't know how to do that and just thought that was the way the iPad worked. So my daughter showed me how to create folders and this is what we did.
Hey, my daughter knows this so how hard can it be right?
1) Let's say there are two icons on one of your iPad screens related to sport. What we can do is create a folder to place all the sports related apps into. Then we would know where all the apps relevant to sport are stored.
2) First place a finger on one of the items icons and hold down until all the icons on that screen start to vibrate and have a checkmark in the top left-hand corner.
3) Still keeping your finger on the icon move it onto the other sports related icon. The two icons will then highlight and you will see a folder created with a guessed name.
4) Lift your finger off the icon. You will then see the two icons presented in a new folder and the folders name given above the icons.
5) To change the name of the folder just tap anywhere near the name of the folder and use the keyboard to replace the name. In this instance we would call the folder "sports", so tap in "sports" and click on "done".
6) Now click anywhere on the screen away from the folder and then click on the button at the bottom of the iPad and on that screen you should now have a folder called "sports" which, when you tap on, opens up and displays the two applications.
And that's how my daughter taught me how to tidy up the iPad desktop. Easy huh?
This got me thinking. If it was that easy to tidy up my iPads desktop, and I didn't know how to, what other things were I missing that could help me and make the iPad even easier to use.
