Hard foods, like ice or anything containing nuts can fracture the tooth until the restoration is complete; and sticky foods can dislodge the temporary filling.

Once the tooth has healed from the initial treatment, it will be restored with a crown. This will require two more appointments. During the first, the tooth will be reshaped to accommodate the crown and impressions will be taken. A temporary crown will be placed to protect the tooth while a dental lab fabricates the permanent crown. This normally takes a couple of weeks. Once it is ready, your finial appointment will be scheduled so the crown can be permanently placed. The result is a tooth that is healthy and beautiful.
