Some people argue that may be it should be done the other way round. Students should make more money. But this is simply not practical because, as a student, you only have a limited amount of time per day. You can't do both perfectly unless you are super intelligent, because there are only 24 hours in a day. If something goes wrong with your grades, consider the competitive world outside - you could be stuck doing odd jobs always!

Saving money has another benefit; you don't really have to do anything extra. Just be a bit more frugal than you normally are. Frugal implies buying everything for the value it provides. It is the no frills approach to life. Finding the best alternative is the ultimate test of frugality and helps students save money.

The Internet helps you to be frugal as well. One of the main areas where you can save money is by buying cheap books online. You need books all the time; they constitute a major chunk of your spending. In fact, some of you even read books as a hobby. So any reduction there will make your wallet much heavier, and you will feel much better. How about a 55% reduction! Imagine saving almost half of your money usually spent on books. You don't even have to deal with the problems of torn or soiled secondhand books. It just makes more sense to buy online.

In case you are wondering, how these guys can give it so cheap? The key is to understand the value chain. Traditional book stores spend more in distributor and retailer margins and also in maintaining the real estate, the employees, and the infrastructure. This is probably one of the easiest ways to save money as a student. You also give yourself the opportunity to study the latest and fresh-looking books rather than soiled, outdated ones. Well, you can even sell some of these to other students next year if you don't make a mess of them.

There are many websites that do so. We have been born in the information age. We face its disadvantages many times; now let us use it to our advantage! Some of these websites have specifically targeted students for obvious reasons, as they are their largest group of customers. These websites have an ideology that if students save money, they will make money. So make sure you are getting the right price, as now the world is at your desktop!
