How To Build A Computer
Although many people would probably have you believe that a whole lot of magic happens before you buy a computer
. It really doesn't. Of all the computers on the market today, I can honestly say, for a home computer, I'd prefer not to use any of them.
Most of the prebuilt computers lack a couple of things that set it apart from a custom build computer. The amount of research on components is usually very lacking and it shows on the performance of the components in the computer. The best lesson with all of this is prebuilt computers aren't junk, but, you will always get what you pay for.
That all being said, what do you need to spend to build a computer that really shines and performs the way you want it to? The answer is one you'll like, whatever you want. The big difference here is choosing components that perform, are backup by a name. How to do this isn't a mystery, but many people don't know how to do it, or even where to start.
I believe there are 4 major steps to knowing how to build a computer that you will need to conquer in order to have a great computer.
First, you'll have to choose the computer parts. This sounds like the easiest part, but for me it's where I spend the most time. To get great parts, you'll need to find benchmarks of the key components, and reviews for everything else. We'll also factor in brand names that have a performance history, both for being reliable, and for being quick.
Second, you get to the best part, putting it all together. You take all the parts you researched so hard and you'll learn how to put everything into the computer case connecting all the components as you go.
Third, we'll take a look at setting up the CMOS or BIOS. This is a simple step but takes a little getting used to because it's all keyboard commands, and the user interface is a little primitive. This process lets the motherboard know how to communicate will all the parts we just attached to it.
Fourth, last but not least, the hardware part is all done, now all you need to do is install the operating system. This is typically Windows and installs without much action at all from the user. The bit of information that it does need is straight forward, once it's all done, your computer is free to use in any way you see fit.
So what's the best part about all of this? Your computer only has Windows on it, all the other software that is bundled with your prebuilt computer is not on here, that alone will make your computer way faster than a prebuilt with similar specifications. I've taught many people to build their own computers, I have yet to find any that go back.
