How To Choose A Good Campaign Topic For Your Article Marketing

Choosing the right campaign topic for your article marketing is important because if you choose wisely you can expect to see your campaign have greater success. You will learn that a good campaign topic is one of the most critical aspects of article marketing. A lot of writers find it challenging to choose topics for their article marketing. In the beginning your topic choice might be a little trial and error until you figure out what topics are working for you and which ones are not. In this article I'm going to give you the steps I follow for choosing a campaign topic.

1. Brainstorm

In this process you need to write or type down topics you might already have some interest in. Is there a topic you have experience or expertise in; write it down. Is there a hobby you have or would like to have; write it down. During your brainstorming write down anything that is remotely interesting to you.

2. Determine Your Level of Interest and Knowledge

Ask yourself how interested in or how knowledgeable you are on your topic because your article marketing campaign is going to require a great deal of writing. You will be writing the content for you website; you will be writing and submitting articles to article directories. The more interested or knowledgeable you are on your topic the easier it will be for you to write about it.

3. Keyword Research

A keyword research tool is very useful in helping you find topics to write about. These are two free keyword research tools which I have used; WordTracker's Keyword Research Tool and Google's External Research Tool. All you need to do is type in any keyword phrase related to your niche and you will in-turn get key phrases that people are actually using when searching online. This will help you in a couple of ways; first you are able to find topics to write articles on and second you are now writing on something that people are interested in learning more about.

4. Blog and Forum Search for Questions

Go to any one of your favorite search engines, type in a keyword related to your niche and at the end of it, just add the word "forum" or "questions". The results will be hundreds of websites where people have asked questions in your niche. This is another good way to choose topics to write your articles on. The reason most people read articles is to find information to resolve their problems. So find questions and problems that you can go write articles on to answer them.

5. Check Out Your Competition

If you search Google for your exact article title in quotes, the search engine will generate the results. If there are other articles on the Internet with the same article title you have chosen simply try adding the words "how to"; "did you know"; or even "the best" in front of your title play around with it until no results come up and then you have chosen your campaign topic.

Your campaign topic is something that must get right if you plan on having targeted traffic visiting your website. If you write about something that the people in your niche aren't interested in, then you will have few visitors. If you take the time to choose the right topics based on your research you should be able to run a successful article marketing campaign for your site.
