If you plan on recording, check for keyboard models that come with a record feature. And if you plan to put your music on a computer, you need to make sure that the keyboard has a MIDI interface. For creating melodies using different instrument sounds on the keyboard, look at electronic musical keyboards with multiple voice setting. Do you want to upgrade in the future? There are several keyboards on the market to where you can add a foot pedal, additional speakers and a stand.

There are hundreds of music keyboards on the market. They are as low as $60 or they can cost $1000s. Your desired features and goals for the instrument will dictate how much you will invest. Reason being, Yamaha and Casio are simply the best makers of keyboards in the industry.
