Step 1: Unplug your refrigerator. Since you are cleaning your fridge, you might want to transfer your perishable goods to another fridge or a cooler. You can ask your neighbour to store your food for you in the mean time. Step 2: Remove the contents. While you are removing the contents, you should begin segregating them. Transfer the contents of big boxes to smaller ones to save space. Use clear plastic containers so you can easily see the contents of the containers. Step 3: Get a damp towel and wipe bottles and containers. Wipe the top part of the bottles of mustard, ketchup and other condiments. Also wipe the bottom part so the bottles will not leave stains behind. Step 3: Soak the towel in soapy water. Wring out the excess. Clean the interior of the fridge using a damp towel. Make sure you clean the grills, the egg compartment and the bottle compartments. Remove the compartments of vegetables and meat products. Wash them in soapy water. Rinse them and let them dry completely. Step 4: Check the lighting of your refrigerator. Use a dry paper towel to wipe away excess moisture or dirt around the refrigerator bulb. Take this time to inspect the quality of lighting inside the fridge. Find out if the filament has already burned out. Step 5: After cleaning the interior of the machine, proceed in cleaning the exterior. Pull your fridge forward until you can reach the back area. Use a shop vacuum cleaner to get rid of collected dirt in the coils of the machine. Step 6: Remove the contents of the drip pan. The drip pan is usually located at the bottom front of the fridge. Just remove the panel and you can see the drip pan. Get rid of the contents and clean the pan. Step 7: Replace the parts you have removed. Slowly push the fridge back to its original place. Arrange your goods properly. Make sure you can easily access those you are going to need earlier that week. Step 8: Plug the machine. These are the steps you can follow when cleaning your side-by-side refrigerator. You should clean your fridge at least once a month to prevent the accumulation of dirt.
