How To Create Engaging Content

When it comes to engaging with your target audience

, one of the biggest components is creating lots of engaging content to promote via social media. But how do you actually do it?

One of the biggest challenges that many website owners face is just what to write about in the first place. For many site owners, the beloved blog is at the heart of your social media strategy. Any external social accounts such as Twitter and Facebook are then pointing back to your blog, which is of course living on your website.

So to actually determine what you need to write about is to turn any proposed content into a range of questions. For instance, how do I.....?; where can I.....?; what is the best way to....? and the list really does go on and on.

So let us suppose that your website is all about frying pans. So what are some of the questions that could be asked? Well some could be: how do I choose a frying pan?; how do I cook chicken with a frying pan? or how much should I pay for a frying pan?

The great thing is you dont even need to think of such questions, and actually these questions will act as your article headlines, so you have some work completed for you already. But, when you start typing into Google, it is will give you suggestions on what phrases are actually being entered, so you know that you have an audience. All you have to do know is cater for that audience.

Think of it like this, if people are doing their research using Google, then there is very strong chance that such discussions will be taking place within the various social channels as well, simply because it is information that people are looking for.

The next thing that you want to consider is the topics relating to your business. Suppose you consider that your business is not exciting or even glamorous, such as say DIY. Nevertheless what topics are related to DIY? For this example, there are indeed many such topics such as plumbing, building, painting and just fixing things. But within each category there are other subcategories because within plumbing for instance there are countless other topics that could be written about.

When doing this it is also a good idea to create a mind map to help those creative juices to get flowing and once you start there will be no stopping you.

Once you have done this, you can then start the research around each topic and determine what you should write about in order to provide something that will be beneficial to your visitors.

Finally, and this is so simple but very few people will be doing it, but just ask your audience what information they are seeking. Reach out to via your social media channels and you will be inundated with great content ideas that you would never have thought of alone.
