and playing techniques to develop young players as these pave the way to making the champs of tomorrow. As senior players, they will prove an asset to the team by affecting positive changes.
Its your duty as a coach to make them clear the goals that need to be accomplished after their training on the basic drills has been completed.
During the soccer training, almost all coaches tend to fail in conveying this message that it takes much more that hitting the ball into the goal post to grow to be a great player.
This article reflects upon some soccer drills which have a double benefit of assisting the players improve in the game along with adding a tinge of excitement in their regular practice sessions.
1. The first and the foremost drills is the passing drills which is also the chief drill of all. This requires placing of two cones down 10 yards far from each other. Then, following each cone, 5 players are lined up. Now one player from any of the rows will begin with passing the ball to another player in the opposite row.
2. Following this first pass, they will then run in the outer region of the cones. Then they would go back to the very same line to which they had previously passed the ball. Keep on doing this until every player gets a chance to pass the ball at least a couple of times.
3. Allow the players in soccer practice to touch the ball at least twice while carrying out this drill. As a coach, make your players practice to use first touch for seize the ball and the second one to prepare it for a pass.
4. It should be taken into account that the ball must remain to stay close to the players body subsequent to the first touch. Of the first few soccer exercises, this is the one taught to the players in order to develop the players ability to keep control of the ball. Players use the second touch to pass the ball to players in the opposite line.
5. Its pertinent that you start training the players on kicking the ball with the inside of their foot while they are still in the process of learning to pass the ball. This will help them make a smooth pass to the player in the opposite line.
6. It takes you to the next phase of the drill wherein the players use only one touch. It therefore requires the player to pass on the ball to another player as soon as he makes a contact with the ball.
So let it be known that since it is a very high-speed drill, the players have to be very quick in moving about to the opposite line.
