This RFID tag, designed as a hang-tag, supports EPC Class 1 Gen 2 communication protocol. It is an ideal solution for tracking items in severe industrial environments such as industrial electrophoretic painting processes used in the automotive industry. The Gen 2 RFID tag also can be used for tracking car bodies through the manufacturing processes, including the coating and painting processes.

This passive Gen 2 RFID tag, model 116402, helps reduce costs related to indirect maintenance and labor in comparison with permanent tags. It operates in the frequency range of 865MHz to 928MHz and offers a maximum read distance of three meters. Encapsulated within a high temperature resistant plastic case, the UHF RFID tag performs well even when subjected to several chemical baths, high temperature and physical stressors.
