Hour glass. This is the type in which the bust and the hips are well proportioned and the waist line is very well defined. If you have this body type, go for clothes that are cropped or ends at the waistline so that it would show your figure. Also try to fidn some shawls, v-necks and tuxedo collars. And as far as pants are concerned, try finding bootleg pants and those that have contoured waistbands. And for skirts, choose pencil skirts so it will complement the hourglass figure that you have.

Straight or willow. This is the body type in which the upper and lower torso are of equal width with little or no definition at the waist line. Women with this type of figure usually have slender legs, a flat rear and the usual bust size. With a body type like this, it would be best if you wear something colourful and filled with patterns. Choose a design that focuses more on your chest area like turtle neck blouses. For skirt,s you can wear almost everything from an a-line to dropped waist. Even those with handkerchief hems.

Pear. Women with this type of figure have a very well defined waist line. They also have slender necks, small shoulders, round hips, and full thighs. Simply wear the right size when it comes to your bottoms. Wear something that's made from flowing fabrics. Don't overdo what you're wearing. Semi fitted tops will suit you best. Choose blouses with cowl and square necklines since these will surely create a broadening effect on your shoulders.

Apple. This body type is for women with full busts and average hips and waistlines. To complement your body type, you should focus on your midsection. Find empire cut tops and dresses to provide that elongated look for your figure. Other than that, you should wear pieces that have vertical lines. Avoid wearing tops or dresses that have horizontal stripes since this will have a widening effect on your upper torso. If you want to hide your hips since these are too big, you can wear a bubble skirt.


Spoon. Women with this body type have full or medium busts, broad shoulders, small hips, waists, and shapely legs that are long. Women with this body type should wear wide leg pants or pants that have a flare to them. And if you're into skirts and dresses, try finding those that have a triangular shape with the bottom part being wider. As for tops, find clothing items with solid colors that you can pair with patterned and printed bottoms.

You don't need to feel insecure about the body type that you have. It's just a matter of knowing how to carry yourself and finding ways to complement your figure.
