How To Focus On Exercises

Consistency in exercises for weight loss can be a tough call for most people. A lot of those who dream of losing weight think like:"It's just one workout.""I'll do an extra workout tomorrow.""I just don't have time."It may seem in the moment like missing one workout isn't going to matter, but by now you may have figured out that missing one workout makes missing the next a little easier. If you could write it all down and track it you would notice that you are missing more workouts than you are actually making. Then you check your weight and think why the scale isn't moving, right? Don't hang your head in shame, just vow to do things differently. You will never successfully meet your health and fitness goals if you have a lax attitude about missing workouts. You want to workout to lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, but when you skip a workout you increase your risk. You actually signed up for a weight loss program because you want to look great; when you miss a session, it just makes you feel worse.Every workout counts! There are only two legitimate excuses for skipping a workout:1. You are physically injured and have been told by a doctor that you cannot workout AT ALL.2. You are sick and physically cannot stand up or move long enough to workout.Note that most injuries and illnesses are not going to qualify for these two legitimate excuses. If you fractured your leg, you can still modify your exercise by sitting down and moving your upper body. If you have a cold or your allergies are acting up, you can still workout. If you are serious about getting consistent with your workouts, not falling for any other excuses than these two will be enough to get you on the right track. That means you can't tell yourself you're too tired or your kids are sick or the neighbor needs you to babysit their dog. These are non-sense excuses that you won't buy.Think of solutions instead. Even if you feel beat up from work, just begin the workout and you'll see that you can still pick up. You can modify the entire exercise to be done at home instead of the gym if you are needed to stay at home. When the neighbor needs a dog sitter get the dog out for a jog rather than sitting on the porch watching it.When you no longer enable yourself to be talked out of workouts you will start to see success. When you look for solutions rather than conflicts you will find that consistency with your workouts is easier than you ever thought before.Missing workouts is no longer acceptable. That's where your mind has to be for long term success. As you start to implement this very simple rule you will find that you have to put yourself in first place to make it work. Make sure your health is at the top of your priority list and never let it dwindle down the bottom. That is easier to say than do for most people, but think of this as your new job. You can't call in sick every time you are tired or the neighbor asks a favor, so why would you call off on yourself for those things? You have to give yourself just as much respect as you give your boss. There is no trying when it comes to working out. There is no almost getting to it and there is no such thing as attempting a workout. Either you make yourself a priority and get it done or you let yourself fall to the bottom of your own list and remain fat, unhealthy, and destined for an early death.Schedule your workouts and only let yourself off the hook if one of the two legitimate excuses presented here apply...and don't twist it to falsely apply one of those excuses!
