How To Get Name Brands For Less

How many times have you seen the most amazing store in the world but haven't been able to buy anything you wanted because the price is more than you can afford

? If you're like me, it's been more than once, but your worries are over.

Garage Sales

Although most of the time garage sales don't have what you are looking for, occasionally you will find a great deal. If you are looking for popular clothing stores like Abercrombie and Hollister, you'll often find shirts for prices under $5. Sometimes they are great deals, but other times the shirts can be over worn or over priced.

Thrift Stores

Stores like Goodwill are a great place to find awesome deals. I have bought 7 pairs of Abercrombie and American Eagle jeans from Goodwill for $5 each. Not bad considering one of the jeans alone would have been well over $40 in stores. If you are looking for a specific brand in tops, though, it may be a little tricky because there are so many tops in the store. You have to remember while you are shopping though, because items are donated to Goodwill you may not find as many name brand items.

Plato's Closet

Most likely my favorite store in the world, Plato's Closet is a great resource for brand name items. Behind the front desk at our Plato's Closet always has at least five Coach and Ed Hardy items at all times. They have tons of Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister, and Ruehl items in their store. Those four brands alone probably take over half the store. Their prices range from $6 to $12 per shirt and they have great sales, including their grab bag event where you stuff as many items into one bag for $15. Plato's Closet even has a lot of shirts new with tags.

While shopping all of these great resources, be sure to check each and every item for wear and tear since a lot of the items you will be looking at are used. While Plato's Closet is very strict about what they accept, sometimes you can find a tiny hole on a shirt or two, but I've only had problems with maybe 1 shirt out of the 50+ I've bought from there.
