Smoking wreaks havoc on your lungs and impedes your ability to properly exercise each day. Drinking wreaks havoc on your liver and decreases your energy level. Beyond the damage they do to your body, alcoholic drinks are jam packed with empty calories. Just working off the calories from the alcohol alone could use up your whole exercise routine. Why would you do that to yourself?

A full workout is possible even if you don't want to spend a bunch of time at the gym. You can work your whole body with just a single activity by using the elliptical trainer or rowing machine. Believe it or not, a twenty minute session on an elliptical trainer or in a rowing machine will train and tone your whole body. Just twenty minutes with either of these machines is the equivalent of a sixty minute workout that works each major muscle system individually. Lots of people choose to use one of these machines because they do the same thing the other equipment machines do but they do it in a fraction of the time!

Join an athletic activity that you enjoy. Dance classes provide you with a great way to burn calories work your muscles and have fun. Water aerobics classes are also fun. Hiking and rock climbing are also good. These are all exercise activities that help you get fit while also allowing you to have a lot of fun. You have a more likely chance of getting in shape if you like the exercise routine you do. If you can't stand the fitness routine you do, you will start to make excuses to skip it.
