In Indian education system, education is a compulsory feature, as we have to follow a set pattern of education without putting in our own choices, for a CBSC, ICSE Board student there are no choices till class 10th then you can choose your stream in class 11th /12th from Arts, commerce & Science. UP Board student choice is after class 8th.
After a formal 10+2 education comes a turning point in life that is professional education, pursing a professional Graduate & PG level course, but major problem here occurs for student "CAREER DECISION"
1. Which course to choose?
2. What are future prospects of selection of a particular course?
3. Which College to choose and how?
4. My friends are opting a different course should I go along with them else & would be left alone. ?
All these questions arise in mind, too many option and we do not follow any specified frame work to zero on one decision.
Here are some tips that can help you making a Career Decision.
Dream - Yes, start dreaming, first dream and then analyze your dreams, generally you dream your passions which you do not identify otherwise.
Identify your passion:- Passion is something that you willfully wish to pursue, please identify there is difference between liking and passion, like to do something in leisure time can be a hobby, but pursuing something to make a career is passion.
Do your Home work:- Do go for extensive research work about its scope, future prospects in job market. Match your strength with the requirement of course and identify your weak are as you need to build on.
Consult your family & friends:- Do not follow now when you know what you wish to become you have done your homework, you have identified your strengths and weakness, now consult people who are close to you, know you better than you know yourself take suggestions and family support is always required to reach your career goals.
Finance- Take into considerations the financial aspect of education. When you choose you place of study and college, you have to consider the finance aspect as how much you can actually spend, the course fee variations, hostel expenditure and loan facilities.
Do not get carried away- There would always be confusions creeping up to you, do not carried away by negative riders, it is your career and only you are suppose to make decision for yourself, do not get influenced by what your neighbors are doing or friends are following.
Do not follow; try to read:- Do not get mesmerised by others or groups doing the same thing, it is very easy and comfortable to follow a group, but very difficult to lead, but leading has a special charm.
