Once you have closed the gap between the two of you, you can get started on doing things that will make him fall back in love with you again. Once you get talking, it should not be that hard because you need to get him to see you in the way he used to see you.

This means you need to become the person that they fell in love with in the first place. To become that person again the best thing you can do is examine yourself and your relationship to see what the reasons might have been that they decided they no longer wanted to be with you. It could be something as simple as you shut down emotionally or the two of you yelled instead of discussed. If it is something that you can fix, such as improving yourself, go ahead and do that and see where it gets you.
