Since you're relatively new to beat making, you should consider picking up some inexpensive music production software. You don't need hundreds of dollars worth of fancy, high end equipment that you don't know how to use. This will do nothing more than collect dust. Plus, all the time you spend trying to figure out how to work that equipment could be used to hone your skills. Start small and think big. It's not what you use, but how you use it.
