Delhi, capital of India and also of the National Capital territory of Delhi, is the second most populous metropolis in India. Delhi is marked with many ancient monuments, museums, fabulous eating places and bustling markets.

Indore to Delhi is well connected by rail, road and air routes.

Delhi is at a distance of about 827 km from Indore via NH3 up to Agra and then on the NH2 to Delhi. This journey by road takes about 13 hours. One has to drive on the NH3 via Dewas, Shajapur, Biora to reach Guna. From Guna continue on the same Highway via Shivpuri, Morena up to Agra. From Agra you have to change to the NH2 and drive through Mathura, Hodal and Faridabad to finally reach Delhi. There is an alternate route from Indore to Delhi via Jaora, Ajmer and Jaipur which takes about the same time as the first route.


There are a few private buses having service from Indore to Delhi, but the journey is long and takes about 17 hours. These are normally AC or non AC Volvo Luxury buses and the cost of a ticket is about Rs 600.

If hard pressed for time, one can also hire a private taxi from Indore to Delhi. The rental charges for a round trip being approximately Rs 17000 for Premium Non AC cars and about Rs 23000 for Luxury AC cars.

There is also a railway link from Indore to Delhi which is more comfortable and economical than travel by bus or car. The Nizamuddin Express (12415) is the fastest train on this route which departs from Indore at 16.20 hours and arrives at Delhi at 05.40 hours the next day. Some of the other trains from Indore to Delhi are The Malwa Express (12919), the Biweekly Indore Dehradun Express (14317) and the weekly Indore Amritsar Express (19325).

The best way to travel from Indore to Delhi is by air as the journey takes only about one hour 30 minutes. There are many airlines conducting daily flights between these cities and the airfare is about Rs 3000 upwards. One can book tickets from any of the various internet portals.
