How To Place Your Advertisement On A Semi-truck

With the significant distances that many semi-trucks travel during a day

, it is not surprising that advertising on the side of a semi-truck is a particularly good advertisement place. While driving down the road, you will probably notice thousands of trucks with little to no advertisements on the side. However, this is not to say that each semi-truck will want advertisements on the side. Typically only small businesses will be approachable for such an offer, as larger companies often have a steady cash-flow, and are not interested in any further revenue.

Consequently, the most ideal people to approach with such an offer are the small businesses and the individuals. Some companies that rent semi-trucks and other such vehicles to people may also be interested, as these tend to be small businesses, too. It all depends on the business, as many businesses advertise themselves on their vehicles. And this is to be expected, as the potential for people seeing such advertisements is great.

You first port of call might be to look on the internet for small businesses. Bakers and other small businesses might be a wise choice, for they don't often advertise on their vehicles. You need to take into consider the geographical diversity, as bakers will most likely travel locally, whereas semi-trucks that carry freight, may well be travelling long distances - if not abroad. Therefore, if your business is only relevant to the local community, then you need to ensure the vehicles you're looking to advertise on, do not travel outside the local area.

Once you have found a few businesses to approach, set yourself a budget, and then pitch to the company based on the amount of miles you think their vehicles travel. You then need to approach the owner of the business to talk to him about the possibility of an advertisement being placed on their vehicles. However, bear in mind that it may be advisable to purchase an advertisement on one of the vehicles, and then monitor how that campaign goes before distributing the adverts across their entire fleet.

After you have contacted a few companies, and they have agreed to place your advertisement on their semi-trucks, then you need to either ask for a referral for a designer, if they have one already, or if not, then to find a company that specialises in such advertisements yourself. You need to keep in mind that vehicles will only usually be visible for a few seconds, and therefore the advertisement needs to consider this. It needs to be memorable, and easy-to-read. A means of contacting the business should also be clearly visible. This is where a memorable website address or a memorable phone number would be truly beneficial.

Subsequent to getting an advertisement complete, you should submit it to the company for approval. It is entirely up to them as to whether they place your advertisement on their vehicles. You will then want to be contacted before the vehicles drive onto the streets, to ensure that all the information is correct on the vehicles, and that you're happy with the whole deal. If you are, then you can begin monitoring the campaign, and to see if it was a worthwhile venture!
