If it is just a case of discoloring, you can re stucco right over the spot. This will not be the case of you have severe water or structural damage.
Before you begin you will need the proper tools; ladder, paint, stucco sprayer, putty knife and drywall mud. Make sure the paint you get will match the wall. If you do not know what color it is, you can take a chip in and have it matched at your paint store. This is important or your repair will not look right. You can rent a stucco sprayer from a rental place or local hardware store.
Prepare the area by putting down a painters cloth. You will also need to turn off the electricity to the home in case there is electrical wiring running behind where you are looking to spray. This will keep you from being electrocuted.
Set up your ladder if you need to in order to reach it and feel secure while working on it. Some people prefer to set up scaffolding to have secure spot in which to work. Take a specialized knife and cut out the stucco that is damaged. Keep it as small as you can to make your job easier.
You will now begin with the drywall compound which is also known as mud. You can buy this from your home improvement store. Take your putty knife and get a small portion out. Slather it carefully in the spot. Let it dry. This may take several cotes. You will want to get it to the same level as the stucco wall next to it. They will need to dry overnight. This extra time will insure you have a quality job done. Do not rush letting the mud dry.
The stucco sprayer is next. Practice using it first if you have never used one before this project. You do not want your first attempt to be on the wall you are trying to fix. Use a plywood board for practice getting the right touch. You spray it lightly back and forth until you are pleased with the texture and thickness.
You are now ready to head to your spot you need to fix. Spray over the mud carefully. Spray and thin layers until you get the look you want and they match the surrounding stucco. You must then allow the complete drying of the stucco before proceeding. Paint the area to match the surrounding stucco.
