But, if you can retrace the assembling yourself, you can go ahead with your self-service. In this process, the first part to be detached will be the SIM tray. Put aside the SIM card and get your attention towards the case. Using an opener, remove the case of the iPhone. Now unscrew all the three screws to get access to the motherboard. Here, there will be a ribbon type chord, attaching the base board and the frame, which must be disconnected carefully. Now you will witness the most secured region of the iPhone, where ten screws, including the one behind the tape, must be removed. You have now entered the motherboard chamber, where the battery and motherboard are adhered together. With utmost care, remove all the screws and latches, bearing in mind, which one goes where. Finally, detach the LCD and digitizer with the same reverence.

Let all these individual parts dry under a fan or sunlight for at least a few hours before assembling the parts, one by one. Just cross your fingers that the phone gets its life back.
