Repairing a rock chip on a car is a quick procedure, and there are two main ways we can make the fix. We can either touch rock chips up with a tiny paintbrush, or repair them with an airbrush. No matter which procedure we choose, we always do it right.

With the former, we first look up the paint code, prepare the correct color, and then go around the car and touch up every little rock chip. Its a good option to fix a rock chip in this way when you have normal wear and tear on your car, especially small rock chips and minor scratches. The unsightly blemishes will be taken away so when you are walking round the car as close as two feet away, you do not notice them anymore. We usually fix nicks with an airbrush when rock chips are bigger. We spray the paint into the chip with a little airbrush, and then wipe the excess paint off around the chip after it has dried.

Scratch repair is different from rock chip repair. When there are scratches on your vehicle, they are often only in the clear coat and not so deep into the paint. This allows us to repair them using a buffer and a buffing compound. Most of the time you have to use water and a very fine grit sandpaper, which is why we use 2,500 grit sandpaper. We spray water on the area where the scratch is, and do wet sanding with the sandpaper until the clear coat scratch is gone. Then, we buff it out with the buffer and a buffing compound to restore the gloss on that area. Finally, we wax it and the process is complete.

In the end, you are left with a low-cost alternative to repainting your vehicle, which is the best solution in most cases to save you both time and money. Call us today for our top-notch rock chips or scratches repair service.
