How To Romance Your Partner
It is quite surprising just how many people believe that they are not romantic, never have been, and never will be. They believe that because they are not naturally romantic they stop trying. As a result they never put in the practice to develop their romantic skills. The sad thing is, that many have those skills they just do not use them, after all, they told themselves that they were not romantic and it must be true if they told themselves that? It is just an excuse for not trying, you need to learn to romance your partner.
There are two main reasons as to why not trying is bad for you and your relationships.
Firstly, romance is a vitally important component of intimate relationships. Romance creates unparalleled opportunities for intimacy. If you do not put some romance into your relationship and romance your partner, then the intimate connection that you have with your spouse will fade away.
Secondly, romance is not an inborn talent, it is a skill that you have to learn. Okay, some people are more naturally romantic than others, just as some people are better writes, better musicians, better gardeners. If you are not a natural romantic there is nothing to stop you learning the skills of romance, just think of all the fun that you can have in learning to romance your partner.
So, you believe that you are not a romantic, fair enough, we are all entitled to our opinion. Can I ask, if you are already in a relationship, or if you are married, just how did you reach that point if there was not at least a flicker of romance in you? One of the easiest ways that you can use to revitalize your marriage, or your relationship is to reignite your old romantic spark, that you had let go out, because as you convinced yourself, you are not a romantic, are you?
Romancing your partner is not rocket science, it does not have to cost a fortune, it really is quite simple. All you need are a few simple strategies to get the ball rolling. For those unrepentant unromantic amongst you, or those who just want to improve the quality of your lives, here are 3 strategies to help you to romance your partner.
1. Call them to say, "I Love You."
Do you ever take the time to tell your partner that you love them? There are only 3 words to say so it does not take much effort. Just take a minute or two out of what could be a very busy day, and tell your partner that you love them, that you are thinking about them, and that you are looking forward to seeing them after work.
It does not have to be a phone call, it could be an email or a text, just to let them know that you love them and that you are thinking about them. It lets your partner know that they mean something special to you, even when you are apart.
It shows that you care. And that I guess is what romance is, you taking the time to do something special for your love to show them how much you care for them. If you think about it, that is not such a difficult thing to do.
Do not go overboard in telling your partner that you love them, do not make it into a routine where you call them at certain, set points of the day. If you try to romance your partner too much then what you are trying to do could lose its impact, and its appeal. This is something that you want to do when you think about them, do it because you want to do it, and not because it is yet another chore that you have to do.
2. Just leave a Love Note
The appeal of this one has lasted for centuries, the fact that it has suggests that there is something to it. You could say something loving, caring, complimentary, or a bit more...
Leave it where they can find it at a certain point of the day.
It is up to you what you put in the note, it is how you can express your love for your partner. It could be anything from saying, I love you to a poem. It can be your own words, or something that you have found in a book that expresses your love.
The important thing is that the feeling comes from in you. If you are having trouble saying how you feel out loud, a note is a great way to express yourself and draw closer to your partner. There will always be a few people who do not like notes, but on the whole most people respond very well to the surprise of finding it, and the message within.
This might be a simple way to romance your partner, but the knowledge that you spent time and thought on it, is worth a lot.
3. The old favourite, flowers and chocolates.
Some might think it a bit of a clich, but it is still one of the most traditional romantic moves that you can make. Chocolates might be a bit of a newcomer, a bit of indulgence that you can share curled up in front of the T.V. I suspect that you have to go back a long way to find a time when giving flowers was not considered romantic.
Flowers can be expensive but that does not mean that you have to go crazy with the price. A single red rose, 2 or 3 flowers in a simple vase, or an awe-inspiring bouquet, whatever gets your message across.
There might be some of you that think that these techniques will be work. To them I say is making your loved one happy, and by extension yourself happy, is that really work. If it is, I wish that all work could be so pleasurable. If you want your relationship to work, and to reach its potential, then you have to put some effort in to it. That bit of effort that you put into your relationship lets your partner know how special they are to you. Look at it as an investment in your relationship, the rewards make it more than worthwhile.
Like anything, the more that your work at it, the easier that it will be to romance your partner. The simple methods that I have outlined can go a long way to recreating intimacy in your relationship. Use them to discover the romantic in you. Once you awaken that romantic that is slumbering in you then have some fun discovering your own romantic ideas. Try watching some falling in love movies to get some
