Checking the Requirements

You will need to use a 1GHz processor which is either 32 or 64 bit. You will also need 16GB of space available, 1 GB of memory and a supported graphics card for Aero.

Search Indexing

The search indexing service is designed to make searches much quicker. While this does work, it also makes your computer considerably slower. You can turn this off easily by right clicking on computer and choosing manage. Then click services and applications and select services. In the list of windows services take a look for the windows search service. You will then be able to disable this from running at startup.

Disabling Aero

One of the nicest touches of Windows 7 is the aero interface. This includes transparency which looks great but consumes a lot of the power of your computer. If you are running on an older computer or are trying to make your computer run quicker then you should turn this off.

When you plug in the flash drive you can right click on it and select the properties. You can then choose Ready Boost tab, then you will be able to tick the Use this device to make it possible to use it as Ready Boost.
