How To Spend Less On Your Next Retreat
With todays depressed financial climate, with over-the-roof fuel prices and unbelievable
expenses of daily living, traveling has become one of the top casualties of the yearly budget. However, with such a distressing and demanding environment, traveling has also become an indispensable part of keeping a healthy work-to-life balance and maintaining ones sanity.
Based on a medical study, humans can only tolerate a certain amount of stress, pressure, and pain from outside factors thus many doctors prescribe patients to take a vacation. A long or even a short travel alone or with companions is enough to get away from all tensions running in your mind and body.
However, we understand that you dont want to overspend either so here are some travel tips that can help you save money while on a vacation.
WALK THE WALK. You are not only saving money, but youre saving your health too. Instead of riding a cab on a trip or renting a car, if you chose an accommodation that is near the attractions you want to visit, I suggest you start walking. Besides, its best to take pictures while walking than riding in a car. However, if you chose not to walk, I also recommend rent your own car than pay ridiculous riding fee from airport shuttles.
USE THE HOTEL WISELY. Although the main point of going on a vacation is allowing your mind to rest while checking beautiful sites, enjoying the benefits of your accommodation by staying in place doesnt hurt also. For example, if youre a parent who travels with kids, remember that kids love playing in the water and hotels have the best swimming pools so take advantage of that. Getting sandy at the beach or visiting a nearby museum would also be a cheap way to enjoy the getaway.
PLAN AHEAD. Vacations come only once in a while, so you may as well plan for it instead of doing everything at the last minute. Reserving accommodations and tickets well in advance can help save money and avoid further stress. Many airlines and hotels offer early-bird discounts, so try to book at least two months before your scheduled trip to snag those promos.
BRING WATER. It might seem like added baggage, but bringing your own water can help save a lot of money. Remember that in tourist spots, even these items can be pricey. There are even some destinations where the quality of water may be suspect, and bottled water fetches a premium price for unsuspecting tourists. In contrast, water and sports bottles can be refilled at the hotel or fountain stations while visiting different attractions, saving unneeded expenses and rubbish.
It might not be enough but these few tips can really be useful in your next vacation to avoid overspending and enjoy more relaxing. Some might sound familiar but carry as many tips as you know because one day, it might really be helpful.
