Many affiliate marketers use article marketing to generate tons of traffic to their sites

. Article marketing also gets them free backlinks, which in turn rank their sites higher on google. Targeting the right keywords, you would miss out on a lot of opportunities to make money if you didn't use articles. This article is more about how to start an article marketing campaign than it is to how to write an article.

The first thing you need to do is to sign up at different directories, with high page rankings. Posting optimized articles here will automaticly rank the article itself in google, instead of just your site.

You might think what use an article in google might have. The idea is to get people to read your article and then follow your link back to your site. Here you can build a relationship with them and once there they will follow your affiliate links. So find some low competition keywords, and see what kind of sites rank for them. If the sites are PR 6 and up you might have a hard time ranking for them, but if some of the sites are article directories like this one, you could rank well.

Now you have to write the article, ugh I know.. I hate writing. Its just not fun to do, and it takes so long sometimes. There is an easy way to start out though.. want to know how? Write Top 5 or Top 10 articles, eg. Top 10 Ways To Cheer Up A Friend, or Top 5 Tricks You Have To Teach Your Dog. There's more to this than just making it easier for yourself to write something, it keeps people interested and makes them want to read all the way to the end. Why does it matter so much if they reach the end? Well that's where they go to your site..

Your article has to give away information, but not very detailed information. This will make people want to click on your link so they can learn what the full story is.

Well, now all that's left is your resource box. Here you want to make people curious and show them where to go for more information. Taking the dog tricks example, you could say: To learn how to teach your dog these tricks in under an hour visit YOURSITE.com! instead of saying: For more information go to YOURSITE.com
