Things I would avoid using is campho phenique cold sore treatment as it does dry the sore but then makes it crack which is super painful and then youre left with a scar mark. Also Abreva does not help much it took just as long as any other medications Ive tried before so I wouldnt waste the 13-15 bucks on it. And just to protect it further use a straw to drink liquids so you dont rub the medication off and keep it cleaner. Hope that helps!
