1. Check the condition of the wound before cleaning it. If the wound is deep and
is bleeding profusely, seek the help of a doctor immediately. But if the wound is not that threatening, you may proceed on doing first aid.
2. Apply pressure on the wound using a clean towel, napkin, or your hand. If you'll use your hand in doing so, make sure that you clean it very well or else you might infect the wound and make things worse.
3. Clean the wound with water to remove any dirt stuck on the surface of the skin. After cleaning it with water, you may now use an anti-bacterial soap to clean the wound. Clean the wound gently with the soap and rinse thoroughly. Dry it with a clean towel or a napkin afterwards.
4. Put on some anti-bacterial ointment or an anti-bacterial solution on the wound. NOTE: Avoid using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide because this would cause an intense burning sensation.
5. Cover the wound with a gauze. This would help protect the wound from particles that might infect it. NOTE: Avoid using adhesive bandages if the wound is big. Adhesive bandages is only advisable for smaller cuts and wounds.
6. Make sure to clean the wound everyday to help the wound heal faster.
