How To Use The Internet (to Market Your Business); It Is The Best Kept Secret Out There

Most of the CEOs out there today, especially the big guns on the Internet

, did not start out with a huge corporation; that is probably the best kept secret about Internet businesses. Anyone can run one with the right Internet marketing tools.

Of course, if you are just beginning an Internet business, and not sure what to do first, there are dozens of such tools available to help. Allow us to give you a few suggestions to put in your tool box.

The absolute best tool to begin with is called SEO, also known as Search Engine Optimization. This means creating keywords that harmonize with and describe your business and its merchandise and products. Auto lots will use automotive terms and automobile brand names; online hair salon sales websites will use product names; literary blogs will toss in anyone from Shakespeare to Stephanie Meyers (both of whom will get a nice customer response, by the way).

When you plant these keywords in your website business content (and we hope you blog regularly on the site), the search engines, such as Yahoo, Bing or the reigning champ Google, will immediately direct their seekers to websites that include those search terms in them. Thus, customers come right to your site; you do not even have to beat the bushes for them.

Another of the Internet marketing tools is your business title; this should include main keywords, and if possible no extraneous words (leave out definite articles like A and The, for instance). And if at all possible, think of sexy, hot and wild when describing your products and searching for keywords for them. Why, you ask? The words sexy hot and wild are best sellers at the moment, and probably always will be.

Another tool is keeping your content brief, at 60 characters or less in your opening statement. People want a fast read, and see little need for detail. Also, include a heading or two (with keywords, naturally); these may appear to fragment your content but actually makes it easier to read and absorb.

You might notice this copy you are reading has very short paragraphs.

Lastly, have your pages and links, especially hyperlinks (the glowing blue URLs that connect to other websites) clearly organized on your page (and make sure those hyperlinks contain keywords). You want people to see you are giving them a clear, concise map of what is available from your business.

There are some tools to begin with. Start building a business!
