A few years ago I inherit enough money to not have to work and so have since dedicated
my time to finding the best ways in the UK to get bang for your buck while buying stuff. Here are my top tips for what you should do to have a good time yet also get a deal:
1. Watch some Championship football. It makes much more sense to get tickets to Championship games of football rather than Premiership matches because the tickets to the grounds are so much cheaper yet the standard of skill on display is completely comparable. The league is also more competitive really, due to the fact that anyone of around twelve teams could win the division each year whereas in the Premier League only three or four teams could. This season I have mostly been going to Birmingham City games because admission into St Andrews is one of the cheapest in the league, the Blues have been playing superb football this season and there is a fantastically comfortable and cheap Birmingham hotel just round the corner from the stadium. I also occasionally go to watch Derby County at Pride Park as my brother is a fan and there are loads of cheap hotels in Derby.
2. Get tickets to Glastonbury festival. This is one of the greatest events in the world because it consists of five days of celebration featuring an incredibly eclectic and talented range of artists. Youre sure to see more quality live music than you can shake a stick at and so the 150 price of the ticket is more than worth it for if one were to count up all the gigs encompassed then the cost would add up to a lot more than that. There are stories every year of people that dont sleep for the entire five days of the festival and there is nothing quite like watching the sun rise from behind the Glastonbury Tor while sitting in the Stone Circle around a camp fire, swigging locally-brewed cider and passing a guitar amongst friends.
3. Take a day trip to Brighton. This seaside city is unlike any other in the country due to the alternative culture that has developed and thrived. The proximity of the sea means that the air is always fresh and there is a lively music scene thanks to the high number of students amongst the population and the density of pubs in the area, which is second only to Soho with regards to the number of establishments per square mile. The pier is also certainly worth a visit for the view that id affords in both directions along the coast and on a clear day you can even see the cliffs of Calais on the horizon.
