Focus on full body exercises that require you to engage 2 or more joints. Exercises like Bench Press, Squats, Dead Lifts, and Rows are all great for fat burning. Plus as you build lean muscle onto your frame, you will increase your natural metabolism since muscle requires more energy to upkeep than fat. This will make it easier to lose weight and keep it off your body permanently down the road.

You should be lifting about 3-4 times per week for about 30-45 minutes each time. Doing any more can result in overtraining which will hinder your weight loss goals. Remember to focus on full body exercises and don't be afraid to lift heavy weights!
