I've been writing so much for the ladies, I thought I would get a hub here that could apply to men just as well!

Nothing is more beautiful than being healthy. I'm not talking about your weight; I'm talking about the feeling healthy, being able to move well in your own skin and having a glow of good health kind of beautiful. Sure, your weight does come in to play at some point or the other if it is causing health problems, but this article has nothing to do with that and truly isn't relevant with yoga.

Yoga is the number one practice you can pursue for your beauty and your health. Now, bear with me before you think yoga is only for skinny people that can bend their left foot around backwards to scratch their right ear. There is a yoga practice for every age and every ability level.

So, just how does Yoga create natural beauty no matter who you are, you ask? Of course, I'm going to tell you!

Yoga not only works your muscles, it works your joints, ligaments, tendons, and fascia sheath that surround your muscles. Yoga positions, called Asanas, help to release lactic acid that builds up with muscle use. The lactic acid builds up causes stiffness, tension, pain, and fatigue. So, releasing lactic acid will allow more flexibility than you've probably ever had in your life!

How Increased Flexibility and Strength Increases Beauty:

In just eight hours of yoga, you can realize up to a 35% improvement in flexibility. This will allow you to move with an increased sense of ease and fluidity. That ease of movement when you walk, sit, and move around is most attractive.

Improved Posture:

Most of the standing and sitting Asanas help to develop core strength due to requiring your deep abdominals to support and maintain each pose. With a stronger core, you're automatically going to begin to sit and stand taller than you do if you just stay hunched over your keyboard all day. You'll also be developing extreme body awareness, so you'll be aware when you start slouching or slumping and can adjust your posture accordingly.

Get in front of a mirror and stand hunched over. Now, stand tall with your head up and your body aligned. Head centered over shoulders, not too far forward or backward, shoulders centered over ribcage, ribcage centered over pelvis, not too far forward or backward, and finally, pelvis squared with the floor. Which way is more attractive? Enough said.

When you practice yoga, there is an myriad of biochemical responses. There is a decrease in the hormones that are produced by your adrenal glands in response to stress. Those are called catecholamines. The levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine thereby creating a feeling of peace. Oxytocin levels will increase. Those are "feel good" hormones that leave you feeling naturally happier.

When you are less stressed you are in a better mood. You smile more. A positive attitude is always the most attractive attitude to have!

You don't have to leave home to do yoga, although I highly recommend visiting some yoga classes. The attention from the teachers can help you perfect your Asanas, and the support from fellow students can help gain some long lasting friendships. So, try a few yoga sessions close by you, and check out some DVDs so you can practice at home too.
