How You Can Help Young Kids To Build Up A Healthy Defense System
Little children normally get sick from time to time
. During the winter or the rainy seasons they may acquire a cold or a fever. These may not seem too dangerous but if your kid has weak resistance that's when the problem may start. Help your children boost their immunity to viruses and bacteria while they are still young.
Even (and especially) from infanthood, your child must begin to develop his or her resistance against certain diseases. That is why breastfeeding is important for babies up to two years of age. The nutrients your child can get from breast milk is enough to give him strength and resistance against chronic illnesses like pneumonia, diabetes, bronchitis, and meningitis.
Feed your children with mostly fruits and vegetables. As much as possible do not allow them to buy junk food for snack. Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals good for them (vitamin A for good eyesight, vitamin C for healthier skin, and omega-3 for strong brain).
Have your children wash their hands before and after they eat. Teach them the value of proper hygiene by encouraging them to brush and floss their teeth 3 times a day and take a bath at least twice a day (once in the morning and once before going to bed). Keeping them clean is their best defense against germs and bacteria.
Do not allow your children to stay awake until midnight. Make sure they get 8 hours of sleep every night. Their immunity to sickness will drop significantly if they always fail to get enough sleep. Giving them at least 2 hours of afternoon naps will also help them boost their energy levels.
Get your kids moving so that they will reduce their risk of gaining weight fast and become obese. Give them exercise routines every day when they wake up until they develop it into a habit. Giving them house chores will also prevent them from spending too much time sitting and lying around. The more activity, the better.
Make known to your children the importance of having a neat environment " free from pollution and agents that may cause allergies. Asthma may sometimes be triggered by allergens in the air. If you want your children to grow up with clear and healthy lungs, make sure you tell them to avoid smoke that comes from cigarettes.
