How Your Diet Affects Your Overall Health
There are thin people who are not healthy and average weight people who are healthy
. While it is important to exercise, the more crucial factor in a healthy weight and body image is diet. You can exercise all the time, but if you neglect the nutrients your body craves, your overall health will suffer.
Our bodies are like automobiles. What we put into them is what we will get out of them. If you put water in your gas tank, you wont get far on the road. If you use premium gasoline, your car will run well and when you have the tires aired up properly, youll experience a smooth ride. The same is true of your body. When you put in the premium nutrients and maintain strong physical activity, you will notice that your body responds better to the elements around it. A body needs certain vitamins and minerals in order to stay healthy and fight off the millions of bad germs in the air at any given time. These vitamins and nutrients are available in foods and in supplements. Do your best to get the majority of your daily nutritional needs from real foods. It is not going to make you gain weight when you eat right.
There is a common misconception that has people thinking the less you eat, the healthier you are. That is not true! Your health depends solely on what you put into your body. When you just have a cup of coffee for breakfast, granola bar for a midmorning snack, salad with dressing for lunch, a bag of low-fat chips for an afternoon snack, and some noodle soup for dinner, you are essentially running on empty. Your body has no fuel to run properly and you will feel tired and be prone to contracting every cold and flu that comes your way. Our bodies need fruit and vegetables, good fats, and a reasonable amount of proteins and carbohydrates. It is not enough to eat just a little bit each day, as your body will slow down in order to save energy. Bodies want to use the foods we eat as their fuel source, so when they dont get enough food, they will begin to slow down to conserve what little food it did get that day. You will not lose weight and you may become very ill. Feed your body until youre full with fruits, vegetables, and low glycemic foods, then when you do sit down for a meal, eat slowly and enjoy it.
