Basset hounds are actually a brilliant dog with strong willed attitude. They don't seem to enjoy the training periods so you need to attract her with different rewards or motivational activities.

Basset hounds have odd type of bone structure which makes them look compact and elongated. If these dogs are allowed to jump from the bed, climb downstairs and upstairs and involved in maximum exercise, then they may get hurt. So, you need to take care of these kinds of things while they are small puppies.

While taking care of such crucial things, you also need to be patient while training your basset hound. They are very stubborn and may sometimes don't seem to obey your commands. You should wait for the right time and change yourself in the way your basset hound wants the things to be. Work along with your dog's nature and success will get nearer.

Just being patient won't be enough because you need to train your basset hound constantly for months and years. It takes time for anyone to learn something new. Your dog also requires some time to learn your commands. So, be consistent while dealing with basset hound training. Break the training sessions with many intervals as possible and teach one thing for not more than 5-10 minutes.

If you follow all these things along with positive reinforcements, then you are going to accomplish basset hound training successfully. As you reward positive behaviors, you should also deal with positivity for negative behaviors. Being positive means you are building good behaviors and well going nature in your dog. However, if you punish harshly, then don't expect them to be normal and well behaved. A successful basset hound training demands a lot of time, patience, consistency and positivity.
