Eating smaller meals throughout the day will keep your blood sugar low and will provide you with a steady source of energy to keep fueling your metabolism. Think of your metabolism as a fire. In order to keep the fire going, you have to keep feeding it wood to burn. In order to keep your metabolism burning, you're going to have to keep feeding it food. Eating frequent small meals will help you lose weight and burn fat. Guaranteed.

3) Do not starve yourself. Starving yourself will slow your metabolism. Bottom line. This is the worst way to try and lose weight because it will come back to bite you when you eventually do eat. Do not try this. You will fail and become heavier than you already are. Period.

4) Aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise is a great tool in your fat burning arsenal. We all know how painful and tedious aerobic exercise can be. But not to worry. Muscle burns more calories than fat. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Plain and simple. Obviously you don't want to look like a steroided out freak (unless you're into that), but you should find a healthy balance for what's right with you.

6) Water. Water is the lifeblood of your metabolism. Water to your metabolism is like gasoline to a fire. Drink water to fuel your metabolism.

7) Add ice! Adding ice to your drinks makes your body work harder because it has to heat up the cold liquid in your stomach in order to digest. This process requires extra energy which speeds up your metabolism.


8) Sunlight. Try and get plenty of sunlight. Bright light boosts your metabolism and also helps you increase bone and muscle strength. I'm not saying go out in the sun and fry yourself until it hurts to breathe, but try and get at least fifteen to twenty minutes of sunlight per day. It will help you dramatically.

9) Spiciness is next to sexiness. According to the US Agricultural Service, cinnamon is a spice that can increase your metabolism twentyfold! 1/4 to 1 tablespoon per day will do the trick.

10) Yoga and tai-chi. Okay, for all you manly men out there, yoga might not be a priority on your list, but hear me out. Energy work such as yoga and tai-chi can add energy and balance to your body.
