Your wedding day is drawing closer and, as the groom, you'd like to enjoy the tradition of a night out with your pals. But you want it to be enjoyable, safe and something to celebrate without any worries. This article gives you tips on what to do to make the party a winner.
The venue is very important. One of the deciding factors is your guest list. If you have only a handful of friends then you can have the party in an apartment or house. If you have all your football team buddies and work colleagues, you may be better off in a room in a hotel or even hire a hall. Remember though that a group of guys will not spend the night whispering so take into account the neighbors when choosing your locale.
Food and drink will be needed. A small group in a restaurant takes care of itself but if you're in a rented venue, think carefully about the catering. This is not an epicurean adventure and you could easily get way with pizza and beer. But think it through beforehand, talk to some of your friends, even your fiance, and make sure everything is ready before the party begins.
The date is likewise important. Getting drunk or exhausted the night before you get married is not a good idea. Think days or even a week before your wedding. You will have your best man at your bachelor party and possibly other wedding guests so give everyone a chance to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the big day.
The entertainment options are many and varied. Don't be conned into thinking every bachelors' party involves some drunken event in a sleazy club. You are not holding a Tupperware party but dignity and class can all be part of a damn good night. It's possible to have quality entertainment, some movies and/or games all of which are fun and a challenge. Some guys even go paint balling for their final night of freedom'.
There are some definite no-nos when it comes to these events. You don't tell your bride to be where you are going or in fact anybody who is not invited. You don't photograph or film the event. You don't force the groom into doing something you know he would be uncomfortable doing. He is the star of the event and should really enjoy the celebration.
