Cut out sugary and diet drinks, neither of which is healthy for you. If you are constantly drinking a soda or an energy drink, you are adding extra calories into your diet. Two of the best drinks from nature to help you lose tummy fat are water and herbal tea. Make some herbal ice tea, and keep that in the refrigerator along with a pitcher of water. Have a water bottle available for on the go. Make an effort to constantly drink water or herbal tea.
Throw out the junk food! This should be the first step in how to lose belly fat. Junk food is full of calories, sugars and fats. Eating junk food can lead to a reduction in fat burning and increase in appetite.
Don't eat late night snacks. Late snacks are bad in two ways: There is usually no physical activity after consuming and the excess sugar will turn into fat while you sleep. Definitely not a good thing if you are trying to lose belly fat and get a flat stomach.
Exercise! You can't lose belly fat if you don't exercise. The key is to not focus on strictly belly exercises. Many people make the mistake of focusing on their stomach while exercising. Focus on cardio workouts to burn off excess fat.
Watch your diet. Getting rid of the last bit of fat from your tummy requires you to look carefully at the foods that you're eating. Choose low fat foods and avoid refined carbohydrates. Look at the nutrition labels for added salt, which can cause bloating. Focus your diet on low calorie and high fiber foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.
